A large hardwood of the North Queensland rainforests, Queensland Walnut has an enviable reputation. In years past, it was widely exported as a highly decorative veneer. However, in more recent times demand has far outweighed supply due to the heritage listing of much of its habitat. Although logs are still available from private property, quality trees for veneering purposes remain scarce. Select veneers can feature a prominent fiddleback figure and have been used in private jets, yachts and other luxury applications.
