In years past, Queensland Maple was perhaps the most popular veneer in Australia. With much of the rainforests of North Queensland now heritage protected, its use has diminished in recent years. This does not affect the fact that Queensland Maple is still a traditional Australian favourite and it is still regularly used in the redevelopment of government and heritage-listed projects. It is also a popular choice for musical instruments, including guitars and pianos where the often figured grain is much-loved.
